Liveaboard Salakanagara is a solid phinisi boat operating on the waters of Komodo National Park since 2015. It offers great underwater experience with a dedicated dive guides; for a budget price.
Interpretation of the name Salakanagara can be variable: either as a first indianised kingdom on Western Java at the beginning of our era, or a mythical island of silver, because this is the meaning of Salakanagara in sanscrit.
All in all Salakanagara has 4 double berth cabins for a total of 8 guests, with 2 shared bathrooms and one dormitory with 3 double berths, which accommodates 6 people. This dormitory has its own bathroom. The total amount of diving guests is 14.
Salakanagara chooses the best dive spots depending of currents (which depend of the phases of the moon), weather, and what the group has seen in the previous days.
The Komodo National Park area is so diverse and current-dependent that the specific dive sites can’t be granted, but the crew of Salakanagara offers safe diving and a great time!
The first part of the trip focuses on the North, which offers famous dive sites like Castle Rock, Cristal Rock and Cauldron. The remaining part of the trip covers the centre of Komodo, where there will be possibility to immerse at the sites like Karang Makassar (Manta Point), Batu Bolong, Mauan, Tatawa, and others in the area, and, if Mother Nature will allow, sites around Padar.
